Take in the beautiful scenery of Glencoe, have a drive through Glen Etive, famous location for the James Bond film Skyfall and a great place to spot some wild deer! If you are prepared and have some lunch items with you, enjoy a picnic by Loch Etive, at the end of the single track road, or even go crazy and swim wild in the loch!
If you are feeling brave and active, you can climb up the Devil's Staircase, a steep ascent part of the West Highland Way with breathtaking views over the glen. Later on you can enjoy a gin named after this famous location at the Loch Leven Hotel's Old Ferry bar!
Pop into the Holroyd Art Gallery next to Loch Leven Hotel to admire pieces of local art and perhaps purchase a beautiful travel memento to hang on your wall!
After checking into your comfortable room at Loch Leven Hotel, have a relaxing drink at our award winning Old Ferry Bar, or if the weather allows, on our sundeck terrace and take in the views over Loch Leven and the surrounding mountains. We recommend tasting some of the gins or rums distilled in our Pixel Spirits distillery on site!
Enjoy a delicious dinner in our Loch View Restaurant, beautiful dishes all freshly made from scratch, leave space for our signature dessert - The Bruni - made with our own Pixel Spirits rum!
After a hearty breakfast, take a little walk through the hotel gardens, down by Loch Leven and the beach, leading to Bishops Bay. You can often spot otters in the water and on some (unfortunately) rare occasions even dolphins! If you brought a four legged family member with you, this is a great spot for letting them run on the beach and have a dip in the loch.
Distil your own gin or rum in our distillery! Book a space for a gin or rum school experience run daily in Pixel Spirits distillery in the hotel's grounds. This is an amazing 3 hour experience with expert tuition from the Master Distiller, at the end of the lesson you will get a large 70cl bottle of your own gin or rum to take home! Classes start usually at 12pm and 5pm, pre-booking is essential.
If you haven't been tasting too much of your 'Spirit of Adventure' and wish to have a bit more fun, why not take a Segway Tour at Woodlands on the other side of Loch Leven! Located only a 20 minute walk away across the bridge, you can get some amazing photos on the way!
You must be exhausted after such a fun and activity-filled day so after dinner sit and enjoy the views or have dram in our Literature Lounge, browsing through the great selection of Scottish literature. In our Literature Lounge you can also admire the artwork by a renowned Scottish illustrator Iain McIntosh, best known for the imagery in the books by our favourite Scottish author, Alexander McCall Smith (you will find most of his books in the lounge as well)!
Head to Fort William and start the day by taking a Steam Train Cruise with Crannog Cruises from the Town Pier in Fort William. Watch the steam train travel along towards Loch Eil, also stunning views of Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK.
After the cruise, visit the Nevis Range just outside the town and take the Mountain Gondola to the summit on Aonach Mòr. Enjoy the scenic ride and absorb the clear mountain air and stunning views including the Great Glen, Ben Nevis and surrounding areas.
On the way to the town of Fort William, don't forget to stop by the Old Inverlochy Castle and read about the history of the ruins and the area. Next to the old castle you will also find the recently opened Highland Soap Company visitor centre with a cafe and gift shop!
On the Fort William High Street you can visit various independent shops selling local crafts and produce as well as the West Highland Museum. If you are a movie lover and have the time, why not see a film at Highland Cinema, offering a cutting-edge cinema experience and outstanding café bar in beautiful surroundings, full of Highland hospitality!
At breakfast enjoy the last moments of the beautiful views and have a walk down to the old ferry jetty and snap a few pictures of the Ballachulish Bridge against the mountain backdrop. Check out isn't until 11am so you can take your time!
Before leaving the area, visit the Ballachulish Slate Quarry in the village of Ballachulish, take a walk up the hill to take in the amazing views of the exposed quarry and the surrounding area. Afterwards enjoy a coffee break in the Ballachulish visitor centre where you can also do some last minute souvenir shopping!
